  Mothers As Teachers

 Matthew 20:  20-23

Mothers may be our greatest teachers as some of the most important lessons in life come from our moms.  The lesson today often is read with negative implications, only a closer reading will inform otherwise.  At first glance it appears the mother in question is seeking preferential treatment for her sons. But we can learn a great deal from Salome. Here are some basic lessons:

 I.  SALOME UNDERSTOOD JESUS GIVE THE BEST LIFE HAS TO OFFER.

II.       SALOME  COMES TO JESUS WITH THE RIGHT ATTITUDE.

III.      SALOME DISCOVERS JESUS IS INTERESTED IN OUR NEEDS.

IV. SALOME  DISCERNS THE IMPORTANCE OF JESUS’ WORDS.

 V.      SALOME ACCEPTS JESUS’ WORDS OF TRUTH.

A mother who has “sold out” to the Lord Jesus is one who demonstrates everything that is good and right in life.   As Proverbs says:  “Her children shall rise up and call  her blessed.”  Proverbs 31: 31.
